The Ministry of Industry and Trade will coordinate with related agencies in implementing trade promotion programmes in both traditional and online forms in accordance with the new situation to enhance the value of Việt Nam''s rice products.
Higher rice supplies in the domestic market has made the export price of Viet Nam''s broken rice to US$450 per tonne on June 19, the lowest level in the past two months.
Viet Nam exported 1.42 million tonnes of rice for a total free-on-board
value of US$577.28 million in the first quarter, a year-on-year increase
of 57.7 per cent in volume and 51.16 per cent in value.
Viet Nam now exports rice to more than half of the 55 African countries,
and its major importers are the Ivory Coast, Ghana, Senegal, and
Angola, as well as Cameroon.
